There is no denying that French brands are the top players of the fashion industry; Chanel, Dior, Louis Vuitton, need I say more? Over the years, global fashion trends have been influenced by the unique and elegant French aesthetics. And from street style gurus to Instagram bloggers, the world is still following the French when it comes to fashion.

So it only makes sense that most French fashion brands have multilingual websites — after all, they have customers from all over the world chasing that French touch. Therefore, we decided to make things a bit more chic on this Weglot Customer Showcase and take a look at some of our favorite French fashion brands — right from the fashion capital Paris.

If you’re ready to discover these stunning multilingual websites, allez-y!

From Future

Most people think about the classic designs when it comes to French fashion — From Future is here to change it. As the name suggests, the brand has a unique retro-futuristic character and their clothes are bringing innovative fashion elements and timeless French style together.

In addition to their eye-catching designs, the brand has a distinct and inspiring persona. As explained on their multilingual website, their core values are Responsible Sourcing, Animal Welfare, and Sustainable Supply Chain. Feels like a breath of fresh air in the world of fast fashion, doesn’t it?

But the French speakers aren’t the only ones that can benefit from their creativity and vision. The website of From Future is available in 4 languages: English, German, Italian, and of course French. Their minimalistic language switcher complements the overall website design and adds great value to their message. Go ahead and check it out for yourself!

Next on the list, we have Soi Paris. This colorful brand that was created by two sisters in 2016, brings a brand new definition to patterns. All the prints used on their garments are created by the designer of the duo, Julia, and each one has its own unique story.

“More than just clothes, we create wearable stories.”

— Soi Paris

For example, their iconic shirt “Mamie Odette” is inspired by an artichoke and orange salad recipe that their great-grandmother used to make. You can even see the original handwritten recipe from their website and discover all the other Print Stories.

Another special element about their patterns is the effect of trompe l’oeil — which means that the designs have a visual illusion that tricks the eye into perceiving them as three-dimensional objects. So what you see when you look at these stunning dresses changes depending on where you stand!

And of course, their wearable stories aren’t only for French speakers. You can also visit their website in English and Spanish, discover the story behind each print and wear clothes that are inspired by true feelings and memories.

Jimmy Fairly

Oh, how can we forget about Jimmy Fairly? This French eyewear brand is priding itself in making quality eyewear at a fair price — while having a positive impact! Thanks to their solidarity program, Buy One, Give One, they have donated more than 600,000 pairs of sunglasses over 10 years!

But being socially responsible isn’t the only thing that makes this eyewear brand special. Since going to the stores and trying on different sunglasses wasn’t possible for everyone this past year, they came up with an innovative way to work through it. Their new virtual experience allows you to see what you look like with their glasses on before purchasing — a brand new level at online customer experience!

Another impactful addition to their website was the language switcher. Prior to going multilingual, their website was only available in French. However, they realized that 19% of their sales were still coming from abroad. So they knew it was time to break the language barrier!

Within a month of integrating Weglot, their international sales were 4 times higher and 8 months later, they were 6 times higher! You can read our case study to learn more.

Inès de la Fressange

The final French Fashion Brand on the list is Inès de la Fressange — created by, well, Inès de la Fressange! For those of you who don’t know, she is a French model, aristocrat, fashion designer, and perfumer. She was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1998, so you’ll be safe shopping from her online store!

She even became the muse of Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld at age 25, due to her remarkable resemblance to the brand’s founder, Coco Chanel. In 1991, she finally created her own brand, selling various products such as jewelry and perfume that originate from the area in which her grandfather lived, at 12 Avenue Montaigne in the 8th arrondissement of Paris.

“For me a woman (or a man) that I find chic is often someone that looks free.”

— Inès de la Fressange

In addition to stunning clothes, her website offers fashion and lifestyle inspiration for those who’d like to truly embrace the modern sense of “Parisian chic.”. In the blog section, you can find news about the brand, insights on the latest fashion events, and the most influential looks of Inès de la Fressange.

And you don’t have to speak French to shop from this brand. The website of Inès de la Fressange is also available in English allowing fashion lovers from all over the world to be inspired by her elegant taste and style.

Conclusions

Thanks to online shopping, fashion has no limits. The French brands that gave French women their stylish reputation is now accessible to everyone in the world. And providing language options on your website is the first step to being discovered by fashion lovers internationally.
